The loneliest number

Yesterday I got back from a work related trip to Hot Springs, Arkansas. I was really looking forward to the trip. I'd heard Hot Springs is really pretty with lakes, hiking trails, and great scenery. Plus my meals and hotel was paid for, so I thought, "What a fun get away! I'll go to my class during the day, enjoy good meals, and check out the town/hiking trails/scenery during my free time." So this is how I spent my first night on my own:

Ridiculous, right? I should probably stop watching so much Law and Order: SVU. And Criminal Mind. And Without a Trace. The vicitims on those shows are always girls in their 20s who are all alone and without a chair to stop a serial killer from breaking down their hotel door. Good thing I had a chair. Once I got a grip over my wild imagination and mental images from the forementioned shows, I braved the hiking trails of Hot Springs. With a sharp edged rock in hand.

It turned out to be an okay trip, but I definitely realized I'm not as independent as I thought I was, or as I'd like to be. But since I got through it without getting lost or abducted, I suppose each time will get easier. I still plan on taking my honey with me whenever possible!

Speaking of my honey, here is the latest on our new place:

Plumbing AND a foundation! We hope to have some wood in the picture next time...
